This is a very special album. Forget the Third Jam Disc. This is adouble album basically, and thankfully now priced as such.
Th standard of songwriting is of late Beatles standard for the most part. AND THAT IS SAYING SOMETHING. Quite why The Beatles couldn't make more ofAll Things Must Pass the song is ONE OF LIFE'S MYSTERIES. And a prettygood reason why The Beatles HAD TO SPLIT UP.
"It's not the end of the earth. It's only a rock group that split up. It's nothing important." John Lennon 1971.
Maybe later in the 70s this statement can be questioned (?) the thetime of writing, John was DEAD ON.

This is one album where one song makes it worth the admissionprice......Never Without You is a class tribute to George from Ringo...avery strong melody, almost as if George had helped out here! And thewords are very moving....Ringo of all the people on the planet right nowknew George the best.....I think Paul would be up there too but until hecomes up with a song, this is about the most heartfelt tribute to Georgeyou could wish to find. This track is up there with Ringo's best 10songs, the emotion of It Don't Come Easy, the melody of Photograph, thevery personal lyrics of Early the added guitar fromEric....this is basically an ESSENTIAL track in any Beatle… Read more

How this Box set can leave out Lay His Head or Flying Hour and the video to Blow Away is just beyond Olivia can put this out with a frankly pathetic selction of bonus tracks is hard to take....don't tell me this is all there is...or at least don't expect George fans to fork out 60 or 70 quid when they already own the original CDs from 331/3 through Cloud Nine.....Shangai Surprise and a demo of Here Comes The Moon and Mystical One are just NOT enough....Tears Of the World, a 1980 song tagged onto 331/3 makes NO sense....almost as annoying as Goodnight Tonight appearing as a bonus track on McCartney 2 rather than Back To The Egg...REALLY!!!!! please think of your hard… Read more
