Released back in 1993. For me this is 'The Winner (That) Takes It All' of all of her self-written four U.K Albums. Today it may now be 2012 but due to Beverley's unique style of songwriting and her gorgeous voice you will find it hard to tell that.
Following on from her superb 1991 debut album 'Beverley Craven' which featured her
hits 'Promise Me', 'Woman To Woman' & 'Holding On'. This was my first purchase of any of Beverley's albums way back in 1993 and I think it is also her best, crammed full of individuality, shimmering maturity, beauty & melody. This is one of the best 'Greatest Hits' ever. Especially if like me you have the free bonus DVD of all their videos. Steps have been a favourite of mine since 'Last Thing On My Mind' (their 1st Top 10 hit) reached No.6 in 1998. I still play 'Buzz' (their best studio album from 2000) or their 'Greatest Hits' on a almost daily basis and it reminds me what 'Masters Of UK Pop' that Steps were and look like becoming again with this their 3rd No.1 album for which they have my congratulations.
The album contains 20 tracks. With 15 Top 10 and 14 Top 5 UK Hits (3 of which were Double A Sided). Steps original hits can truly be called 'Steptacular'. These include:

Carly Simon's 2009 'Never Been Gone'is a beautifully intimate and thoroughly enjoyable album throughout. All the 11 re-works on 'Never Been Gone' have been done in a beautiful acoustic and folk style. Despite the passing year's, Carly's more mature vocals and arrangements allow both the original and the rework to be appreciated as two totally different concepts and proudly stand side by side as two separate works. Standout tracks for me.

All of the above are totally haunting versions and I thank you dear Carly, for… Read more
