The Wind in the Willows 'Spring Follies' is the first in a brilliant quartet of seasonal videos of this splendid childrens' adaptation. It shows the characters in traditional countryside pursuits such as May day celebrations and spring boating both of which provide hilarious consequences for the vain toad. It also shows the animals trying to come to terms with the introduction of the steam engine. The show is both marvellousley entertaining and eductional in its treatment of history and the portrayal, through animals, of a rural bygone age.
