I used this in a custom built case (a stripped out old G4 Mac tower) with an AMD A8-3870K on an ASROCK A75M-ITX motherboard, with not much room to squeeze it in, but the relatively small pump fitted nicely over the cpu and I managed to fit the radiator with just one of the fans instead of both, and it works fine. Almost silent in operation at tickover, and not too noisy when it warms up, with a decent breeze blowing through even with just the one fan. I'm not overclocking the cpu yet, just got it on auto until I feel like playing with that, but have BOINC tasks (Einstein@home) continually taking up around 50% of the cpu time and it is managing to keep it at a steady 40 degrees C, which I… Read more

Sing In Japanese ~ Me First and The Gimme Gimmes
I don't know any of the original songs, or speak more than two words of Japanese, but that doesn't matter - these are really good choices of tunes and you'll soon be trying to sing along, even if you can't understand a word of it! I love "Hero" & "Linda Linda" in particular, but this is one of those cds you can just put on repeat play and listen to over and over again, my best buy of the year so far.

I installed this 750Gb WD Blue as a replacement HD in an early 2008 model MacBook Pro (4,1). Formatted fine using GUID scheme, though I had to select this manually as it wasn't the default for some reason. Restored OS X partition from a Time Machine backup. OS X itself is happy with the Advanced Format (AF) drive, but I initially had several bizarre problems trying to use rEFIt, the multi-boot manager, as I split the drive into two (or more) partitions for running Kubuntu Linux as well. It appeared ok to start with, but then kept booting straight into OS X. Reinstalling rEFIt didn't work, I even had the installer fail, and trying to copy the directories over to the EFI folder manually… Read more
