5.0 out of 5 stars A real achievement, 1 Jun 2014
Professional reviewers continue to slate titles released for the Vita because of their alleged inferiority to their console counterparts. This is certainly true of the reception of this port of Borderlands 2. However this is a highly playable port of a HUGE triple A title on a handheld. Framerate dips and controls with a learning curve are understandable concessions considering this is not a home console experience. Reviewers need to be more sensitive to the limitations that come with being a handheld, and adjust their responses accordingly. Simply put, this is a rich game that plays as well as could be expected given the hardware at hand. Just see it in action: this is impressive stuff.

I would argue to the contrary. Sure the iconic pulse rifle sound features but bizarrely you are given the option to attach a red dot sight to the rifle; touches like this detract from the authenticity of this game and make it just another bug hunt. The game also has the audacity to masquerade as a new piece of series 'canon' but the story is limp and wholly predictable. All the staples are here: a tragic chestburster infection, a weyland yutani conspiracy and the now tired… Read more
