Ingmar Bergman rest in peace. Your legacy is to have spawned a gloom and doom television industry suitable for family (well OK not the kiddies) viewing. The greys, the mossy greens, the almost total lack of primary colours....it's glorious to watch. And the stories are so dark. Some say the swedish actor in the original series is better, but Mr. Brannagh can almost make us believe he's scandinavian. And with this series we don't have to read subtitles. BBC we want more.
It's a bit gloomy, a bit hopeful, a bit ironic, a bit sad, a bit joyous. Like the Church of England I suppose. Tom Hollander is perfect as the Rev. Be warned: may cause spiritual awakening and longing.
I love, absolutely love Dusty, but this compilation is just too long. It has all the "biggies" plusplusplus so you have to skip over songs all the time if you're listening to it on CD. I'll have to make a compilation of the compilation.
