This is an excellent book with many recipes. I have tried many of them and find that they produce excellent results using grain to brew. Recipes also have malt extract versions for those who do not wish to mash grain. There are chapters at the beginnig of the book which describe the different ingredients and the different ways which beer can be brewed at home, together with the equipment required. The book is suitable for novice and experienced brewers alike. I use it as my bible for brewing, having been brewing at home for more years than I care to remember!
