Robo Rover is a great idea for children to have a go at assembling some technology, but it is sadly of a very basic nature. To put this into perspective, this only took a matter of minutes to assemble between my husband and daughter. My daughter is nearly six, and so this was a new idea for her, and she did enjoy making the finished product.

Robo Rover, himself, is made of very cheap plastic throughout. This caused some issues with his performance, as every minute or so the worm drive/ gears start to slip. We had Robo operating on a laminate wood floor, and so there was a low amount of resistance to cause any issues, but this did not stop it from repeatedly happening. The result… Read more

This bag seems very well-made and is surprisingly lightweight. It has lovely reflective markings and this will be very useful in the winter months, as an added safety product, for walking back from swimming lessons. First impressions of this microscope are that it feels quite cheap and I believe this is all the plastic features that are responsible for this. The kit itself, however, is a sweet little starter set. It contains the microscope, a stand and base unit, a USB cable, Software CD-ROM, a pair of tweezers, an eyedropper, a needle probe, and some slides (Blank and Prepared).

The maximum magnification is only 200x, but this is probably acceptable as a starter machine for children and teenagers. Having said that, it is quite difficult to get a sharp focus at 200x, the depth of field seems to be smaller than the focus adjustment allows for.

One of the most notable features of… Read more
