Connections by James Burke
Connections by James Burke
Anyone who remembers James Burke on British television will remember how engagingly and effortlessly he made even the most complex ideas seem easy to understand. He manages to do the same in this book, which traces various threads of innovation from ancient or medieval times to the present day. I bought this ebook edition because, many years ago, I owned the hardback version, and here I've enjoyed reading it all over again. Very much recommended for anyone who wants to view history in a new light.
La Senza Cable Knit Stripe Slouch Boot Slippers - &hellip La Senza

Bought these for Christmas for my daughter. She loves them, says they're as good as having your feet wrapped in a blanket.
New Grub Street (Oxford World's Classics) by George Gissing
5.0 out of 5 stars Gissing's best book, 12 Jan 2012
This is my favourite of Gissing's books, and I think it's also his best. He clearly has lived amongst characters just like these, writers who've had varying degrees of success, and their day-to-day frustrations make you wish you could go and buy a few of their books just to tide them over the weekend! Lovely stuff.
