3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting read., 17 July 2014
A snapshot throughout the country, of the rush, scandal and corruption to clear the slums, after WW2 and re-house 'en mass'. Some chapters better than others. (Probably, depends where you live or personal connections, making certain parts of the book, more engaging). Very well researched and excellent references for further reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!!, 24 Jun 2008
Informative and entertaining. Helps one appreciate how determined the 'iron lady' was to 'get on' and achieve her goal. Occasionally she appears to put her career before her husband and family. A strong woman, I doubt her family were actually ignored, but she was definitely in the limelight, as we all know. Looking back, she was exactly what Britain needed at the time - a kick up the backside, even thought many of us were negative at the time.
