Having bought 'Teaching Literacy to Learners...' and used it frequently to plan and teach children with difficulties in literacy development, I purchased 'Assessment of Learners'. It is clearly written and concise making it an accessible reference work and supporting assessment by bridging between theory and practice. Having gained AMBDA, this book (along with the authors' first publication) are key works that I can easily refer to in my day-to-day work.

This has proven to be one of the single most valuable and useful publications I have purchased to support my work as a specialist teacher. There are several reasons for this.

First of all, there is an accessible, yet detailed outline of theories of causation associated with dyslexia and how these may influence cognitive processes that lead to certain characteristics being shown by individuals in their reading and writing.
