Interesting story about how Disney managed to persuade P.L.Travers to give her permission for the filming of Mary Poppins. Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson are perfect in the roles of Walt Disney and P.L.Travers however the resulting Mary Poppins film was nothing like the original book but that's Disney for you. In a way I agree with P.L.Travers unwillingness to sanction the way the film appeared to be progressing as it seemed to be so unlike the book she'd written - but she was in dire need of a cash injection at that time so "needs must" as one says.

Involving undercover police work drug and crime syndicates and plenty of action , this book is one of the best examples I've read. When undercover agent Will Trent becomes in involved in dangerous situations the last thing he wants is for his lover Dr Sara Linton to find out as she has history with one of the cops involved. As events become more and more dangerous you get the impression that the underworld must be getting information from at least one mole. Brilliant book that you'll find you can't put down

I didn't see this when it was aired on the BBC but what a gem , brilliant acting , tension and intrigue. It starts with the assassination of a supposed drug dealer and the attempted assassination of a motorcycle courier in London while at the same time there is a "one under" in a tube station. The killing attempted killing and "one under" don't seem to be connected but as the case progresses and a prominent MP becomes involved events take a sinister turn with involvement in the Government the Underworld and a powerful multi-national oil company - if you've not seen this excellent drama it's one to put on your wish-list.
