I purchased this as a replacement like-for-like for teh cat-flap that my cats over the years managed to wreck. It does all it's supposed to do.

I was recommended this book by a cousin, who like me is Scottish. However, despite the book having a fairly good basic plotline Ms Gabaldon ruins it by using every Scottish chiché in the language. Hero's a huge red-haired Scot, rampaging through the Highlands, who regularly goes red with lashed-in temper. The heroine, who has a meagre interest in pressing wild flowers in her 1946 life, when catapulted into 1743 she very rapidly develops an amazing knowledge of all sorts of plants and their uses... The low point for me however was the appearance of the Loch Ness Monster, and the reaction of the token yokel who witnesses the 'interaction' between heroine and monster. Not a book I would… Read more
