I'm training for a sportive at the moment and first took these after having a horrendous headache the day after a long training session. They were recommended by a local sports nutrition store and sure enough within about 30 minutes the headache had gone. Drinking water and having some salty crisps or a salty meal after training isn't enough as you miss out on the potassium salts.
These have two benefits - you get the full range of salts you need and they taste great so you tend to hydrate properly by drinking more. I also find they don't sit in your stomach like water can. I prefer the berry flavour but the cherry orange is also nice (reminds me of Sherbet Dips as a kid)… Read more
This is one of the best backup batteries on the market at the moment. It provides a smart device detection technology so it will always look like a manufacturer charger to whatever phone or tablet you connect to it and will deliver 2A output. The battery level is the best I've seen on the market with 10 separate indication steps and a shake to check feature.
The only negative point is you cant charge the battery pack up while a phone is charging from it. This would have been nice for cycle touring to charge the pack from a dynamo but keep the phone connected.
These can only supply 500mA to an external device and continue to provide power well below the 2.7V to 3V cutoff that is required for lithium batteries to operate safely. Allowing a battery to discharge further can cause it to overheat when charging as shorts form within the battery. This isn't very safe and should have been built into this design.
