I don't have a vision impairment, but I bought this magnifier to look at things up close.
The lens is typically small for this magnitude of magnification.
It has 2 detachable filters to change the hue of the LED light if you find the bulb too harsh.
As the magnification power increases, it is necessary for the lens diameter to shrink so that objects can be brought into focus. Lenses work due to their curvature and thickness.
It is very worthwhile learning about how magnification works before deciding on a suitable magnifying glass.
For a 10X magnifier to have a larger diameter would mean the objects toward the rim… Read more
I like it a lot! I set it up between my Windows 7 laptop and Squeezebox Boom. Connected instantly, no skipping or jumping, and the sound quality is very reasonable, although definitely loses some definition.
The main reason I've dropped a star is because there is a very small lag between the audio stream to the speakers, and video on the screen. It's ever so slightly out of sync so that the mouth movement of the character speaking, or person singing on the screen doesn't match exactly, which is a bit disconcerting.

Rubbish. It burnt out within a week, and the pads kept falling out.
The design consists of a plastic housing and a little hot plate to heat the pads, but if the socket it is being plugged into is orientated vertically, the pad just drops out because there is nothing to stop it sliding through on either side. The only way it can work is if the socket is horizontal, or if one uses an extension plug and plugs it in with the pad facing upwards.
It also burnt out after about 4 days because the little wire on the inside was able to come in contact with the hot plate, burn through and cause a short circuit. Possibly a fire risk at worst, or simply really badly designed at… Read more
