I've read a few books for screenwriting and this one is by far the worst I've come across so far.
It is not good at explaining the process and does an even poorer job at motivating.
The exercises suggested in order to make a good script are a joke (in my opinion)and extremely vague in his techniques.
There are some films being analysed throughout the book. Films that Mr Golding suggests are good examples of maverick screenwriting; and some of these analysis are at best entertaining; however never educating.
If you want my opinion, don't bother with this one. Get "Safe the Cat" and "The Writers Journey" as well as reading a couple of good scripts. That should give you… Read more
