I totally agree with Roy Oestensen's review. Far too much angst and prevaricating and navel-gazing; not enough advancing the plot.

Like Roy, I also found the FTL mechanism - indeed, the whole "Outside" concept, and aiuas - a little far-fetched.

Also, it appears that the only notable thing to have happened in the 3000 years between now and the time this book is set is the Bugger War. At least, no mention is made of any other historical events. Does this not seem a little far-fetched as well?

It's a decent product: compact, well made, and sounds very good.

Others have described a number of plus and minus points, but I wanted to add some annoying issues of functionality, all of which could be fixed with a software update - if that's possible with this product. These are annoyances rather than flaws, but given how many well designed products there are on the market, there's no excuse for these errors in design.

Firstly, the number buttons on the remote cannot be used to select a preset radio station; they are only for selecting the track on a CD! It baffles me why they would not offer a feature which is standard on TVs and a lot of radios these days, i.e… Read more
