If you're after a cosy, feel-good read, this isn't it. If, on the other hand, you're after a tense psychological tale, you're in for a treat. It's uncompromising, brutal, disturbing - and very good. It haunted my dreams for days. The writing is excellent. I particularly liked the way the writer captured the growing paranoia of the main character. I found the character of Sin fascinating. Her childhood innocence is beautifully portrayed. As the story progresses her fractured thought processes are unnerving and, at times, terrifying. She's a complex character, vulnerable and yet dangerous. The characters around her are equally well-drawn - every one of them. A compelling, addictive read.
