I love Alan Butler's writing. His work is always detailed, challenging simplistic perceptions; and it reads well.
I am looking forward to this being published as a proper book. It is a change of direction from Mr Butler; most of his work is based on history and the meaning and mystery of past cultures, but as far as I am aware this is his first book concentrating on a single historical figure;and I love the fact that it is someone who is formerly completely unknown to me. This particular story is fascinating, I want more!
Cherub WCP-60V Violin Pickup by Cherub

I can't believe how good this is. I have tried five or six massively more expensive pick ups and only bought this because I had lost a pick up and needed one urgently.
sound is clear and it fits easily and does not damp the violin natural sound. I can't agree with the last reviewer ...it does not pick up bow sounds....

It is amazing...and at an amazingly low price.

It arrived on Thursday. I am on my 15th hearing now. I have the Strokes album but was never knocked over. Everywhere I go I have these songs in my head. "4 chords of the apocalypse" rebreaks my heart...the perfect melismas at the end of phrases (Echoes of John Lennon on Plastic Ono Band).
Such a gorgeous voice, beautiful words and classy songs.
I love it!
