The Bakemonogatari series prides itself on a few things: Interesting characters, well written dialogue and a gorgeous, minimalistic art style, all of which shine through in this first part of the series.

Koyomi Araragi is a typical high school kid who's unfortunate run in with a vampire was just the start of his recent streak of supernatural encounters. Over the course of the series he meets a variety of different girls, each with their own other-worldly problems that need solutions, and Koyomi takes it on himself to help them all out.
