I was keeping an eye out for a new pair of winter boots, something that I don't usually shop for on Amazon. However I just happened to click on the Ladies Footwear link and I'm very glad I did!

These boots were everything I was looking for and more. The first thing I noticed when trying them on was how sturdy they were. The sole is thick and secure and the actual leather itself feels strong. I laced them up and your foot feels very snug and secure. All this construction leads to them being very watertight and have held up against the Glasgow autumn so far (ie copious amounts of rain).

I love this watch. It's so comfy - not too tight but not so loose that I am swinging it round my wrist all the time. The clasp is easily adjusted and once secured is very sturdy. The modes are easy to figure out and the timer, which can be set in increments of 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 minutes, is very useul, especially when cooking. I bought the purple face which isn't as vibrant as the picture seems to make out, but it's lovely. These watches seems to be very trendy at the moment, so the price on here is an absolute bargain (50 elsewhere!!). Highly recommended!

I was recommended this book by my fiddle teacher and it is definitely a good place to start. Having said that, I feel it's a much better place to start if you have a teacher alongside it - to learn just from this book would be tricky for a beginner. The tunes and exercises are laid out fairly logically in order of difficulty, which is always a good thing for this kind of book! There's also an opportunity to practise writing the notes yourself, this being one of the things that would be best to have a teacher look over. All in all, a good place to start.
