The soundtrack to Gangs of New York proves to be almost as epic as the film itself.
The highlight of course is the Golden Globe winning song, by U2, 'Hands that built America,' but there is far more to this collection. 'Gangs' soundtrack happily moves from an old Irish Ballad, to a U2 rock song, to Chinese classical music, and as a conquence revokes the film in every sense.
The highlights include Howard Shores original music, entitled 'Brooklyn Heights' aswell as the Jocelyn Pook, 'Dionysus.'
Also 'SIgnal to Noise' by Peter Gabriel is included. I found this piece to be rather out of place in the film, (it is played in the opening fight sequence,) simply becasue it does not sound… Read more
