Bel-Ami (Oxford World's Classics) by Guy de Maupassant
I don't rate this translation at all. Very flat, compared to Douglas Parmee's, which has much more grit and evokes the age far better, in my opinion.

This is a must read book. Levi's style is so matter of fact that at times you forget you are reading a true account of this horrific event.
Obviously it is not an enjoyable read but maybe everyone should read it once, it must never happen again.

A really enjoyable feelgood film. An amazing start that sets the pace. American sub-titles are noticeable but not too annoying
