4.0 out of 5 stars Naturally Talented, 13 Dec 2013
I saw this book at the Stanley Spencer Gallery in Cookham, and wanted to buy it as a surprise for a friend, but she was there at the time, so bought online.
This is a good study of the artist and his relationship with teh natural world, but I would have liked a few more pictures. However, having looked at many books, this was the best, at a managable price.
A Crisis of Brilliance by David Haycock
A Crisis of Brilliance by David Haycock
Bought this because I am interested in the period, and the artists covered, and the book is good in showing how they fit into the period, rather than biographies, which show the centre character alone.
However, would have liked more pictures, given tha this is about artists!
The History of London in Maps by Felix Barker
This book was recommended by Alan Coren, and I bought it for my husband, who loves maps. It is very good, but the print is TINY!!
