Round Mr Horne: The Life of Kenneth Horne by Barry Johnston

I have always loved Round the Horne and didn't know much about Kenneth Horne until reading this. Barry Johnston has done a great job writing this book considering many of Kenneth Horne's papers were apparently destroyed after his death. He comes across as a kind, much loved and respected person by his many fans and peers, even by Kenneth Williams. I think that referring to his father and his background, shows how he gained that love and respect and made him the man he was. Thoroughly enjoyable read and would highly recommend it.

Wonderful book, couldn't put it down. Thoroughly enjoyed reading about Sally's childhood in the East End.You never quite know when you begin a book like this if it will be entertaining and you want to share their journey or if it will be tedious and boring. Definitely the former and therefore highly recommended.

What a brilliant book, I didn't want it to end. A fascinating insight into the the lives of Londoners - real people from Soho and Covent Garden of the 50's and 60's. I felt that I was there walking with them and it maintained interest and was never boring. I have read many similar books and this was by far one of the best of this type. Highly recommended.
