I enjoyed the previous book (the 100 year old man) but I found this one to be incredibly annoying. Why did I keep on reading it to the end? Perhaps I thought it would improve - but it was the style I hated so I don't know why I didn't stop after 20 pages!

I have previously reviewed this book and found it incredibly well written and helpful. This audio work is read by Marshall himself. His voice is well modulated and suits the subject matter perfectly. I understand he is a marriage counselor and imagine his tone and manner to be well suited to his profession.

Another in Andrew Marshall's superb range of self help books. I am beginning to find Marshall's works essential reading, not only because of the value of the advice and exercises he suggests but because of his writing style. He is able to evoke those ah-ha moments where one's own actions become more understandable, and thereby more easy to deal with.
The prairie voles are fascinating creatures who develop loving long term relationships - a fact I didn't know, but which immediately ensures the reader is drawn in and intrigued.
