I read this to practise my Spanish as I'd already read the English one. The translation is very well written and conveys the same atmosphere and suspense as the original.

I already have the French collins dictionary for the kindle and was incredibly impressed by it - the French version works supremely well, and is about a quarter the price of this Spanish one.

The Spanish version is very disappointing. Within the first five minutes of trying it out I had problems with it - I tried to look up the word "se apeó". Firstly, it couldn't recognise it was reflexive. Secondly, it didn't recognise the accent on the "o", and took me straight to "apeo", which is a completely different thing altogether. And that was the first thing I looked up!

A really lovely book for any Poirot fan. In it David Suchet describes his journey of playing Poirot - from the beginning of his career as an actor, to getting offered the part, and taking you from series to series, episode by episode. He explains why he plays Poirot as he does, what makes his version of Poirot tick, and why, referencing Agatha Christie's works and the episodes, what it was like filming, and finally the whole thing coming to an end.

I love it because it really shows you what went on inside Suchet's head, and most importantly for me, explains the drastic change of direction the series took after 2002, and how the character evolved with the passing of time… Read more
