Again, maybe I just picked the wrong book for review. My friends have raved about this book, but I wasn't so impressed. Nothing wrong with the writing, the style was pretty cool, but for me the plot was just too, er, silly? Loved up? What I should say is that the quirky and loveable characters made this an enjoyable read, and one I think I'd get more from a second time round. I would say if you're a fan of the romantic genre, this is pretty good. I should just pick better, and this I suppose is more of a recommendation to read the book synopsis, not someone else's review (my downfall, and why I don't try and tell the story in my reviews!). I'm sure plenty of mothers will be waking up to Mummy titled books this weekend. You could do much worse than wake up to this one. My mum enjoyed some of her previous writing, so I picked this up with interest. Turns out that while she writes reasonably well, she is a little well, smushy, for me! That being said, I did really appreciate this book, and will be sharing it with my Mummy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Haunting, 14 Mar 2012

What a beautiful, stunning, and amazing book. It deals so amazingly with loss and how it impacts a family. If you like Jodi Picoult or Diane Chamberlain, you'll want to check this one out. It has stayed with me, haunting me, and the story and emotions are sure to keep me thinking for days and weeks to come. Now please write more, beacause I want to read it!
