Russell Hobbs 18117 4-Slice Deluxe Toaster Modern &hellip by Russell Hobbs
This toaster has been consigned to the scrap heap after 2 years. It didn't work efficiently when first received and has gone downhill ever since. It managed to burn some parts of the bread while leaving the rest untoasted. The slots were shallow and not big enough even for a small slice of bread to fit totally inside the toasting area, so our home made bread had to be toasted in half slices, then turned upside down and toasted again. The only good feature was the high lift which allowed you to see how badly the toasting operation was going. Very poor value and good riddance.

We have several of these around the house in dark places, and they are just great. The batteries last for ages and they mean you don't have to switch on a main fluorescent light and wait for it to start when all you need is a short burst of light, for example when getting something out of the garage or larder.
Prestige 4 Slice Toaster, Black by Prestige
It's no too much to ask for a toaster to actually toast, but the last one I bought (another make) didn't so I had to junk it after a year or so. This one is so far being very efficient and producing lovely crunchy toast. Still not big enough slots to fit a whole slice of home made bread, so we toast the bread in half slices, but it works fine. I just hope it lasts!
