The Book Thief [Blu-ray] Blu-ray ~ Geoffrey Rush
The Book Thief [Blu-ray] Blu-ray ~ Geoffrey Rush
The Book Thief is based on the popular novel and tells the story of a young girl in Germany during World War II who develops a love for books, grows close to her adoptive parents and develops a close friendship with a Jew they're hiding. The story is unique in how it is narrated by Death who follows the girl Liesel through her adventures.

While The Book Thief received mixed reviews from critics, it was well received by audiences and thankfully I have to agree with the audience. Geoffrey Rush and Emily Watson are great in the roles of Liesel's adoptive parents, and newcomer Sophie Nelisse is spectacular as Liesel and proves to be one of the best child actors working today. Chariots of Fire [DVD] [1981] DVD ~ Ben Cross
Chariots of Fire seems to have become one of several movies to have one Best Picture at the Academy Awards that has become forgotten over the years. While I agree that the Best Picture oscar should have gone to Raiders of the Lost Ark, I still find Chariots of Fire to be a very underrated movie with a great soundtrack and featuring some very good performances from its cast.
Casablanca Steelbook (Blu-ray + UV Copy) [1942] [R&hellip Blu-ray ~ Humphrey Bogart
4.0 out of 5 stars An all time classic, 12 July 2014
While I've very rarely gone to watch many old films from the first half of the 20th century, I knew O had to at least give Casablanca a shot at some point especially when it is considered a classic. So I checked it out, and thankfully it was not a disappointment. Humphrey Bogart gives a terrific performance as Rick Blaine, the owner of a nightclub in Casablanca during World War II who is put in a big dilemma when he is asked to help Resistance leader Victor Laszlo leave the country, along with Victor's wife Ilsa who just happens to be Blaine's former lover. Ingrid Bergman also gives a great performance as Ilsa and the chemistry between her and Humphrey Bogart is outstanding.
