This book provides an enthralling history of television broadcasting in Ireland. Not only does it provide many insights into the development of RTÉ, but also the wider development of Irish society and politics in the last fifty years. The modernising influence of television in Ireland is well covered. John Bowman was ideally placed to write this history and does so in a very readable form. The book also contains many images which add to the overall sense of nostalgia.
