Washington: Behind Closed Doors [DVD] [1977] [Regi&hellip DVD ~ Cliff Robertson
This is simply masterpiece TV, and with a widescreen reframing (which it will easily take) 'Washington' re-broadcast would capture the hearts and minds of millions all over again! So come on networks on both sides of the pond! - SHOW IT! This DVD transfer is a bit lumpy and clearly the series needs proper restoration, in particular the sound which is somewhat dire. I suspect the studio gave it a less that loving release just to counteract the numerous bootlegs, and at least for that I'm pleased. As usual, Bob Vaughn steals the show, this time as Frank Flaherty - the Arch Deacon of evil if ever there was one. Buy Now!

Universalís standard DVD is still the best print out there, and infinately better to watch than this disappointing Blu-Ray. The story however, eclipses all… Read more
