USB-Charger for NB-4L / Canon Ixus 30 40 50.../ Ix&hellip by mtb
I lost the charger for our Ixus - we obviously don't take enough pictures! We could have bought a straight replacement, of course, but I'm sure the old one will turn up soon. In the mean time, I now have a charger that works on any USB plug, which is useful as USB continues its inexorable march towards being the low power mains supply standard.

We recently migrated from XP to WIndows 7, and managed to copy most of what we needed across. We retained the hard drives from the old desktops before recycling the remainder. This excellent device provides an emergency backdoor to the old world, so we can recover those files we'd completely forgotten about until we suddenly need them. Have only had to use it once, but that once is enough to justify the price.

I wanted something self-contained (power-wise) to monitor the movement of farm vehicles. Fitting the batteries is fiddly (I could have done with a non-magnetic screwdriver) and there is no on-off switch. The simple reports of vehicle movement are OK, though not very useful to me. The software uses Google Earth to produce the maps of the tracks I wanted, but the device outputs a proprietary format for which there appears to be no widely available converter to extract latitude, longitude, and time of day, which I needed to determine speeds and detailed trip data.
