Echoes: One Climber's Hard Road to Freedom by Nick Bullock

This book is a fascinating insight into a man who have committed himself to climbing - on the mountains and in life.

a wonderful read which focuses on Nick rather than his climbing achievements and a great inspiration to follow your aspirations.

Not a long book - comprised of a many short chapters. Nick's writing style is well paced and while at times disjointed feels like a story told - rather than a story read.

This is a one-stop-shop to get you learning (or refreshing) you mountaincraft, from leader placed protection to glacier crossing.

With testimonials on the back from the likes of Conrad Anker, i think you can probably take it as good advice.

have begged and borrowed older prints, and own the 50th anniversary edition.

well worth it,

Have recently bought this product, intended for general outdoor use (hillwalking to scottish winter mountaineering). Due to the variable conditions in the UK a primaloft jacket is a good compormise between down's warmth and the benefits of sythetic materials in the wet.

so far worth the money... but as always, time and experience will tell.
