The Silmarillion (Deluxe Hardback) by J. R. R. Tolkien

This is Tolkien's most awe-inspiring work. The book details the creation of Middle-earth and gives the history of the Eldar (Elves). This deluxe binding matches some of the more collectible printings by Harper-Collins in recent years and is done in a limited printing. It is in the classic black leather with gold etching. It is printed on fine India Parchmant (bible paper) and has the Tolkien marking on the book and a Silmarillion marking on the case. A true classic and a must have for any serious Tolkien collector.
It goes well with my Lord of the Rings and my three volumes of the Histories of Middle-earth which are in the same binding.

This is an absolute must for any serious collector's library. The information completes many of the legends and gives you insight into the author's mind. I love all three of the volumes. My only complaint is that the pages are too thin for anything besides casual reading. Don't use them for repeated research. Use your old trusty paperbacks instead.
