I must begin by saying that for me, Errol Flynn holds the crown as the all time great definative Robin Hood, which as a major Hollywood film release went under the same name as this T.V. series.
That being said, my first 'Robin Hood' was Richard Green in this Brit. T.V. series which I saw run in New York City, U.S.A. when it was currently being turned out, and 'on the air-waves.' The Flynn film debuted on T.V. a few years later. So, I grew up with the T.V. show first, and it was one of my favorites at the time. The Seven Per Cent Solution [1976] [DVD] DVD ~ Nicol Williamson
If you are a Sherlock Holmes fan as I, this is quite a good one. Nicol Williamson in it as the great detective plays well and thus joined the ranks of many fine actors who have incarnated the role. Holmes fans will like it I believe. Most such films over the years with a few exceptions have met the proper bench mark.

But, then again, few such 'Hollywood' versions are. Still, if you like an old fashioned cavalry vs. Indians shoot-em-up story , this is quite a good and entertaining one. It was in fact also a follow up to the more famous Broken Arrow film in which James Stewart played peace-maker with the Apaches. In that film, and this, the same actor, Jeff Chandler played Cochise. The Battle of Apache Pass historicaly took place before that famous 'peace treaty' This film therefore was 'a prequel!'… Read more
