It is unusual to have a war zone account presented in this manner, in diary form. The sheer honesty is apparent and the inner thoughts of the writer and his continued efforts to improve his own skills is admirable. The care he shows for the men under his command and the tenacity shown during the contacts with the enemy is absolutely outstanding. A fantastic read.
