Transglobal Underground are the pioneers of world music fused with western technology. Backpacking serves up a tasty dish of various works taken from predecessing albums. Natacha Atlas shines with the best female vocals I personally have ever heard. Head - nodding grooves blend with spicy tablas and timbalas to produce the most innovative mix of cultural sounds to take you on a magic carpet ride to far off places where every day is a turkish delight.

I think this is Natacha's 4th album, and it is superb! She has taken a new direction and comes up with what she says she set out to do; to create an eastern - influenced ambient album. It's just beautiful. I would love to see her team up with William Orbit!

I'm a self - opinionated git (So I've been told) but I defy anyone not to get the head - shuffle going on with this outstanding album. Lookee Here, Taal Zamaan and Dustbowl sets the pace for the rest of the album which delivers an intoxicating blend of western beats and eastern tablas with beautifully laid back bass dub sounds and the goosebump - inducing vocals of Natcha Atlas. Just buy it.
