4.0 out of 5 stars Military journal, 6 Nov 2013
I found it a strange challenge to keep reading a military journal, as that is what it felt like. I was going to stop reading it because I was expecting the normal kind of novel. Once I got used to the narative I found it a very interesting read with lots of interesting possibilities. I will purchase the second book
Forbes Road: Love, War, and Revenge on the Pennsy&hellip by Robert J Shade
I have been waiting for someone to right an historical novel about this period in history and it has finally arrived. Strange reading at first, as ther is very little happens after the first dramatic introduction. In theory I should have been bored but it is so well written that I was totally engrossed in the people, history and discriptions of life at that time. It was worth the wait as the story then moved into the history of the Indian wars that followed. Looking forward to the second book. I hope it doesn't turn into a basic novel and continuse with the interesting historical episodes.t
To Crown a Caesar (The Praetorian Series Book 2) by Edward Crichton
4.0 out of 5 stars Great story line, 13 Aug 2013
A great story line with lots of historical facts built in. History is written by the winners and is therefore biased. Were the Caesars as good/bad as history had suggests. The time travel problems add another dimension to the whole idea as well.
A very thought provoking book
