The Provence Trilogy : A Year in Provence; Toujour&hellip by Peter Mayle
5.0 out of 5 stars Provence, 2 April 2014
A masterpiece of 'window-on-the-world' writing with an amusing turn of phrase on every page. There is no greater advertisement for living in Provence as evidenced by the number of English people who have read Mayle and gone in search of "Provencal". The stuff of dreams; it should be on every bedside table.
War Horse by Michael Morpurgo
War Horse by Michael Morpurgo
5.0 out of 5 stars War Horse, 2 April 2014
A short, evocative story, written 'from the horse's mouth'. A children's story, really, but adults with a soft(ish) heart and less than 24 hours to spare (it is a short story) will love it too.
The Complete Yachtmaster: Sailing, Seamanship and &hellip by Tom Cunliffe
5.0 out of 5 stars The Complete Yachtmaster, 2 April 2014
Another masterpiece from the pen of Tom Cunliffe. A thoroughly readable and comprehensive sailing encyclopaedia. A must for every 'yachtie's' bookshelf.
