This is much smaller than it looks. It's like a child's bag. Mine arrived with the strap unstapled to its metal connecting part, so it was unusable even if I had adapted my feelings about it's smallness.

The cover was attractive, and, at £30 was considerably less than the Amazon cover at an extortionate £50-odd. But you are forced in the end to buy the Amazon one if you want a lighted cover because this one simply doesn't work. Although it was possible to get the Kindle into the cover (though not without some difficulty) it kept on popping back out. So it is useless. I think it is because the plastic casing part is solid, whereas the Amazon version is softer, with some 'give' in it. It is very annoying to have to go through the process of returning something when you have bought it as a gift, and, in my case, are away from home and do not have access to a printer for the return labels. This book was quite a `find'. I have great-nieces and nephews in what I imagine is the target age group (9 - 14) and this will make an excellent recommendation for them. The writer is obviously familiar with her audience. She knows what will engage and please them and this story contains many of those ingredients that appeal to curious and lively youngsters: mystery, suspense, characters they will recognise - and spine-chilling spookiness!
