Fly London Women's Humm Red Open Toe Flats P142558&hellip Fly London

2.0 out of 5 stars so disappointed, 28 May 2013
I have several pairs of Fly boots/shoes and love them, they are so comfortable. These open toe flats look great, I chose the red, lovely colour, but the leather is far too flexible and offers no support to your foot. I bought my usual size 5 and they fit lengthwise but as soon as you try to walk in them your feet skid sideways and the leather flexs in all directions. The wee buckles do not tighten them either. It won't put me off Fly in the future, these just weren't for me. I gave them two stars for the colour!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A gem of a book!, 10 Mar 2013
This is a great book to add to any knitters collection!! If you're new to lace knitting this is a great place to start. There is a good variety of patterns to choose from, the instructions are charted and written out clearly and each design is beautifully photographed. If you're an experienced knitter with a huge stash of sock yarns you wouldn't be dissapointed in the choice of patterns, there's not a bad one in this book! Really pleased I bought it and looking forward to starting a shawl, just can't decide which one to do first! Love the little addition to each pattern telling you how to make it bigger if you want. I cannot fault this book!!
Shades of Winter: Knitting with Natural Wool by Ewa K. Andinsson

I agree with the previous review. I expected so much from this book based on the lovely cover. The photography is beautiful but the garments to knit are a wee bit disapointing. There are probably 3 maybe 4 that I will want to knit, the cover one being one of them. The instructions look clear enough, there are charts and written instructions. I haven't started any yet so I cannot say how accurate they are. Patterns include jumpers, cardigans, dresses and various accessories. All patterns are knitted in Marks and Kattens Eco Wool, each pattern states the thickness of the wool required so substituting isn't a problem.
