Rockpalast: West Coast Legends Volume 5 ~ Terry & The Pirates
In the UK we had this genre called 'Pub Rock' which usually meant going into a pub/bar and listening to a band play dodgy covers all night, until a band called Dr Feelgood legitimised the whole genre.
In the USA (I'm told) you get the same sort of thing except the genre is 'Bar Bands'.
Well Terry & The Pirates are a 'Bar Band' albeit one made up of a few psychedelic warriors that fans of psychedelic rock will probably have heard of ?
John Cipollina, Nicky Hopkins, Greg Elmore, David Hayes... These guys got some serious pedigree, and in Terry Dolan they had a frontman who could actually write a song or two.

I bought it as a replacement for the vinyl which I still like, but of the two 'folkie' albums released in the early '90's I have to admit World Gone Wrong is probably the stronger of the two. Still, at least it's got his take on 'Arthur McBride...'

It's not the complete gig as some tracks still seem to be missing but it's probably as much as we're ever likely to get.
That said, it showcases the young Bob doing what Bob did in those days, playing and singing a mixture of covers and his own early material with a sense of humour that you only seem to get before the music industry got serious with The Beatles...
