Wolf: Jack Caffery series 7 by Mo Hayder
I eagerly await each new novel by Mo Hayder, especially the Jack Caffery series.

And, for the first half to two thirds of this book I savoured each page. But then, it slowly seemed to shed reality, and the plot became too clever for its own good. The hostage situation began full of tension but slowly meandered towards tedium. The relationship with the 'walking man' was even more esoteric tha usual.

By the end of the book, I found myself skipping pages - always a bad sign!

For me, coincidence played far too big a part. Full marks though Mo Hayder's research, (as usual). But I'll still look forward to the next publication!

In this story, Joe is employed as a body guard to a Russian oligarch's family but from the start all is not as it seems. The story… Read more

A depressing arty fly-on-the-wall movie that we managed to watch for about 20 minutes before giving up.

If you like the simmering sullen and downbeat movies then by all means give it a go. The fact that my review rating was... 'I hated it', is simply that it was not my style of movie and for those who like this genre then it may have been well done.

The setting was drab and intended to enhance the sense of gloom and the more rancid perspective of life in the lower social spectrum.
