The King of Oil: The Secret Lives of Marc Rich by Daniel Ammann
5.0 out of 5 stars A superb read, 4 July 2012
The title of this book really does this injustice. This book is about a great man who has strived hard to be successful, remain focused, find opportunity and protect what is important to Marc Rich (he and his family)
What makes this well-written is the attention-to-detail the writer has taken to convey the story in a way that is truthful.

Actually, I did enjoy reading this, and although well-written, at times, I felt I was reading a Carl Hiaasen novel, to be honest and not a good one at that. Carl Hiaasen, being Floridan, is able to weave an insanely connective tapestry of Americans quite well, as he tends to stick to what he knows. Stewart Lee, tries to transgress 2 continents in his writing, which although admiral, ultimately fails.
Wordwatching: Breaking into the Dictionary: It's H&hellip by Alex Horne
Alex Horne`s passionate pursuit of word acknowledgement and of word etymology itself make this a truly entertaining read. His pursuit is not about selling books/digital books through telling zany stories, which seems to be the acumen of other comedians. Although some of his efforts to get recognised by the dictionaries, border on zany, it is the passion to invent (in this case words), and spread the word, as it were, and obtain notoriety that really make this an entertaining read. Nowadays, notoriety spreads through image/video. I just love Alex Horne`s attempt with spreading "word".
