Why? Because Carson cuts out the fat.
There're few wasted words in his precision lists of tips. And if his real world experience weren't enough, he's also a hilarious author.

I read this book because as a practicing therapist, I work daily with people who are lonely and seeking to build their confidence. A number of these people are those who feel they lack the skills to create a positive impression - particularly from people they are attracted to. This is one of the few books, in my opinion, that teach practical skills to help address these concerns and has fun doing it. Most importantly, from the beginning the book focuses on two-way communication, in other ways not just "wowing" others, but also the importance of being willing to accept feedback and make changes.

I went through three of these in less than three months. All of them had irreversible hard disc errors and I treat my equipment with great care.

I don't know if I had a bad batch, but none of the three Ipods that Amazon sent me lasted for even a month. The first Ipod and the subsequent two Amazon replacements all failed within 2 - 3 weeks.

I have owned other mp3 players (IRiver) that have not had any problems - so why do the Apple Ipods crash so easily? I really wanted these to work, but after the third one failed - I said "no more".
