I wanted a lightweight laptop to replace my creaking netbook. This one fits the bill and that's why it gets 3 stars.
Unlike Chromebooks, you don't need internet access to use it (I can't imagine anything less useful.)
Unlike Netbooks, it does chunter along at a good speed (but if all you're doing is mail, browsing and word processing then buy one of those instead.)
Unlike Ultrabooks you don't need a mortgage to buy one. With the sleep function it wakes up in seconds.

Being new it hasn't succumbed to the creeping slowness associated with any aging Windows PC (of course MS don't deliberately slow down old systems through the updates; that would be immoral and of… Read more

No sex, no graphic violence, just an exquisitely written tale with a touch of intrigue. The use of language is a reminder of the depredations of modern educational methods.

Just the thing for nodding off to sleep in a business hotel room. Quite delightful, eccentric and gently funny. The characters are caricatures, the plot is painfully potty and the setting is in writers' whimsyland but so what, it's great.
Only problem is that the author has added a murder after finishing the book, presumably to tidy up the plot. At least, that's how it reads. It needs checking for consistency as the detective looks on the face of X for the first and last time, until the next page anyway, and the murderer has struck twice but there are three bodies.
