The Quest for El Cid by Richard A. Fletcher
The Quest for El Cid by Richard A. Fletcher
Bought to replace a sadly lost earlier version of this wonderful book. The late Richard Fletcher was an exceptionally gifted historian on medieval matters .This book has never been surpassed since it was written decades ago.An absolutely fascinating study of the great hero figure of Spain and the real story behind him. Also an excellent view of 11C Spain. good companion vloume to his equally excellent history of Moorish Spain.
