I had read I thought most of Poul Anderson's oeuvre during the sixties,seventies and eighties .Of these the Van Rijn , David Falkayn ,Flandry and the Time novels were my favourites.They seemed to combine a credible sci-fi background with first rate story telling and an enjoyable adventure content .The settting against the progress, truimph and decline of Earth's interplanetary civilisation , of these story lines made for an intriguing format and a desire to know what happened next.I also found these the best of Anderson's work as some of his later writing especially had for me some rather irrritating characterisation issues ,they seemed to have a annoying ,rather hearty ,smug character… Read more
