Strangers ~ Simone Felice
Strangers ~ Simone Felice
Simone Felice's second album builds upon his excellent first. It exudes class, confidence and a man on top form. I was a little worried on first listen - 'Molly-O' is a commercial sing-along - pleasant, but ordinary. However, 'If you go to LA' is a beautiful ballad, with guitar, sweeping orchestra, sad, but uplifting, with it's refrain 'Lie lie lie ...' The darkness (in the lyrics) continues with 'Running through my head', a gentle vocal with gentle beats. The chorus, with harmonies woven in and Hammond organ builds up to a glorious chorus, 'Duke and the King' style - great song. Other reviews detail the context of the extra songs on this deluxe pack. I bought the original, which remains a favourite. The CD features many songs from the album plus some highlights from previous album. High quality and essential for any fan… Read more

I read an interview with Swift and Jurado, the former claiming that his earlier output did not reflect Jurado's true self...well, all I can rebuke is that he did an incredible job of conning me, who melted under the spell of his simple, gorgeous melodic tales of sorrow and heartbreak.

But back to the music and current album. As with most of Jurado's songs, it takes a… Read more
