I first heard of this band due to The Sonics having covered 'Going Back To Grannys' on the 'Busy Body! Live at Tacoma' album alongside various Wailers/R&B covers and a few of their own tracks. With that in mind I made a point of tracking down this CD and I certainly wasn't disappointed. Whilst the original 'Going Back To Grannys' isn't quite as raucous as the Sonics' interpretation, both this song and the others featured here are fine slices of Northwest Pacific garage rock with a kind of jazzy flavour, mostly instrumental with a few vocal tracks thrown in for good measure. I bought this book and found it an enjoyable read so thought I'd offer an alternate opinion to the other review on here as I felt it to be a little harsh...While there are some inaccuracies in this book there are also some interesting insights into what made The Stooges tick, and most importantly there are interviews with many of the band members as opposed to just Iggy Pop, giving a brief overview of each of their post-Stooge careers which makes this differ from the other Iggy/Stooges based literature on the market. Having already read a couple of Iggy Pop biographies it was nice to see that this was the case and in my opinion this works better as a companion piece to Paul Trynka's 'Open… Read more

If you like the dolls, if you like sleaze, if you like men dressed in ridiculously tight trousers then this is most definitely for you...full of great songs, all of which make you wonder why they're not as big as maybe they should be. Overall i really enjoy this cd, and even my mum likes it!!! Buy it, you know you want to...
